My Story
I’m a red Goldendoodle crossed with a Standard Poodle, which means I’m very clever and think a lot. Probably too much, if I’m honest. I notice everything, and am quite apprehensive - I prefer things to be calm, predictable and on my terms.

Busy environments aren’t really for me. Quiet woods, moors and time to sniff suit me much better.

Things I love include rolling enthusiastically in bracken, being told I’m the cleverest girl in the world, long cuddles on the sofa, quiet walks where nobody expects me to say hello, finding things that are hidden, and chicken. Always chicken.

I’ve also had my moments.

I’ve run home from a group dog walk more than once. I’ve politely refused to get into a dog walker’s car, adding an extra hour to a walk. I’ve perfected the art of quietly removing treats from pockets. I wasn’t being naughty - I was just trying to communicate what I needed.

Living with me taught my human some important lessons. Not all dogs enjoy groups. Quiet routes matter. Predictability helps. Pressure doesn’t work. Time builds trust. Sniffing is important work.

That’s why Dottie PAWS exists - for dogs like me, who don’t need fixing, just need a bit more time and understanding.

When it comes to walks, I like them to be calm, unhurried and low pressure, with plenty of time to explore and someone who watches me rather than the clock. It turns out lots of dogs feel the same way.

Dottie PAWS was created for dogs like me - and so our humans can relax knowing someone else gets it too.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think there might be some chicken to be had.
